DAY 1
In this session, we’ll explore the importance of effective training programs in law enforcement records management and how they contribute to fostering a positive organizational culture. Throughout the day, attendees will gain insights into the role of a records trainer and the impact they have on the success of trainees, as well as learn strategies for creating highly engaged learners through clear communication and transparent expectations. Additionally, we’ll delve into the nuances of adult learning in policing, including understanding generational differences and adapting training methods accordingly.
DAY 2
On the second day, we’ll focus on the implementation of effective training programs. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the structure of records training programs and the development of training materials, including the creation of training competencies, rating criteria and scoring. We’ll explore best practices
for documentation and the utilization of recordkeeping systems to track trainee progress effectively. Additionally, participants will learn how to write Daily Observation Reports (DORs) and Weekly Observation Reports (WORs) and incorporate digital tools into their training resources.
