October 10, 2024
8:30am – 3:30pm
Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office
Who Should Attend:Â
This session is ideal for records personnel, crime analysts, and law enforcement staff involved in NIBRS reporting.
In this session, attendees will learn the crucial differences between criminal law definitions and NIBRS offense definitions to ensure accurate crime classification. Assuming that your RMS automatically assigns the correct code for every offense can lead to inaccurate crime data. This training will teach you how to reconcile state statutes with NIBRS offenses for precise coding and reporting. Participants will also explore how state criminal laws are counted for NIBRS purposes through practical scenarios commonly found in offense reports.
