Records managers/supervisors
Accreditation managers
Command staff
- Experienced records personnel who maintain policies, access permissions, retention schedules, or destruction documentation would also benefit
Preparing a Records Unit for Accreditation helps records managers and supervisors evaluate whether their unit can demonstrate compliance with applicable standards. The course explores what auditors and accreditation assessors look for, how they sample records, and what documentation can show that required practices occur consistently.
Participants will examine common areas of review, including access controls, records retention and destruction, and the records that support those activities. The course also addresses how to identify differences between written policy and daily practice, investigate the cause of a deficiency, and document corrective action. Participants will leave with a practical approach to reviewing their unit’s readiness and organizing the evidence needed for an accreditation assessment.
