Survey Purpose and Background

Over the last several years, there has been a seemingly stark increase in the number of agencies which have expressed significant dissatisfaction with their CAD/RMS technology, and the performance of their vendor. There also appears to be an anomalous number of agencies which have replaced newly acquired CAD/RMS systems within a short amount of time (2-3 years), suggesting there are prevalent issues in the industry.

PRI sought to assess the breadth of the negative perceptions of the CAD/RMS software industry that is prevalent today, and the general level of satisfaction users have with their systems and vendors by means of this survey.

This non-sponsored, independent survey was created and published by PRI, a professional services firm which provides state and local public safety agencies with independent technology consulting solutions including CAD/RMS procurement, implementation, integration, and project management services. The firm also provides training programs in NIBRS, public records, project management, property/evidence, and CJIS compliance.
