Certification Courses

Six on-demand courses required to obtain the CLERP Certification:
- Introduction to Law Enforcement Records Management
- A Primer on NIBRS: Doing it Right
- Reviewing and Approving Reports in Records

- NCIC: Overview, Risks and Best Practice
- Ethics

IPSRM Access and Certification

Credentials will be sent via email upon purchase (check spam folder if necessary). If you have an existing PRI account, use the same credentials to log in.
All courses taken online at your own pace through the IPSRM website. Courses range from 1-4 hours.
Each class has a student worksheet for note-taking.
Each class has an online 20 question quiz requiring 80% passing grade

Each online course includes a worksheet for note-taking which is encouraged to assist with passing the quiz for each course. You will have access to the courses at any time.

There is a one-time certification fee upon purchase of the membership. An annual $99 certification maintenance and Institute access fee is charged annually per-member beginning the second year of membership.

CLERP Membership

Certified Law Enforcement Records Professional

Designed for non-supervisory personnel, this membership provides access to the six on-demand courses required for achieving the CLERP Certification, as well as:

Certification certificate mailed to member
Digital certification badge for use on website and email signatures
Access to the member forum.
Access to member-only resources including sample records management policies, guides and tools.
Access to member-only events including The Records Room Live podcast, webinars, and free
training sessions.
