The Problem
The increase of scrutiny on today’s crime stats is an ever growing issue that has led to many high profile investigations of numerous law enforcement agencies.  Are your crime stats accurate?  Is your agency recording and reporting crime correctly?

Producing accurate crime statistics requires taking a holistic approach to crime reporting.  We provide assistance with ensuring your crime stats are accurate through:

      • Reporting Assessments
      • Training Services
      • Audits
      • Code Table Repairs

Read our crime stat articles on how to keep your agency out of the headlines.  Members of our institute have access to additional resources including UCR/NIBRS manuals, report writing manuals, news archives, and member forums discussing UCR issues.

Without a report writing manual, reports are not being written according to standards.  This means different officers are writing reports in different ways.  The result:  inaccurate crime statistics.  Additionally, RMS code tables containing errors, a lack of quality control, and inconsistent training results in problematic crime stats.

We are certified auditors through the International Law Enforcement Auditors Association.
